Bauer 25

Post by LowKey »

A friend asked me to test a new gun show purchase.

It's a NIB vintage Bauer 25.

According to Wikipedia, "the Bauer Automatic is an American-made copy of the Baby Browning.
Made of stainless steel, they are chambered in .25 ACP with a six-round magazine capacity.
The Bauer was manufactured in Fraser, Michigan from 1972–1984."

Since it does not appear to have been fired, I suggested that she keep it as NIB
to maintain it's resale value.

And it's TINY!

TOO small for my size XL hands even when they were only L.
Mother of pearl grips? sort of asking to slip and slide and exit stage recoil!

I'm thinking safe queen, original box and paperwork add to it's value.

Just my $0.02

I happen to own an unfired .25 ( for years ) and never had an urge to
try it. Most likely couldn't hit the side of the barn. Good paperweight.

In that I enjoy casting, reloading, and shooting the 25 Auto.... I'd shoot the heck out of it!

Shooting the Bauer is very tempting.

It is so small that avoiding slide bite would be a real challenge.

It could work well for someone with very small hands.

A very nice looking pistol. My dad has carried a Raven P25 for many, many years.

A buddy carried a chrome Raven (or similar) from the late '60's for years. Got a CZ .32 to replace it and sold it for a fortune (relative to its value) for $250.
