Rem 600 Scout Shooting
Started to shoot my Rem 600 Scout chambered in 35 Rem. Pushing my TLC359-190-RF with 42.5-grains of H335 for 2300 FPS. Started at 25, out to 50, and then 100. This rifle is very accurate and will make a great hunter! Might bump the 190-grain bullet up to 2400 FPS.

Re: Rem 600 Scout Shooting
I've been lusting for that exact rifle but in 6mm and now you have me rethinking. That is one sexy beast of a gun that every time I see one I cannot fathom how they didn't sell better making Remington drop them. But then big green seems to have dropped several interesting things over the years. The old 788 was another one.

Re: Rem 600 Scout Shooting
When I was a young guy I knew an old guy that hunted with a 600 chambered in 6mm. He killed a lot of really great South Texas bucks with his.
When Remington introduced their Guide Rifle, the 673, I had hoped that they would included the 35 Rem but they didn't. They didn't include much of anything in that it only lasted a year (2003). Never figured that out either. Of course the 673 was not a 600 or 660, but a full rifle.

Re: Rem 600 Scout Shooting
RD, the wood on this rifle looks perfect. Did you refinish it?

Re: Rem 600 Scout Shooting
I believe it saw little use as it doesn't look refinished to me. Clean as a whistle. Someone did install a Pachmyer recoil pad on it.

Fine looking carbine, like the dark wood.
There is just something 'comfortable' with how the carbine looks in the pictures...

Re: Rem 600 Scout Shooting
The scout scope has made it quite balanced in carry and off hand shooting.
I was interrupted for a couple of days, one of hunting & one of tractor work, but the 42.5-grain load of H335 behind the 190-grain cast bullet seems like it is going to work well.
