Remarkable job of taking the picture. Is it too shiny now to allow you a chance to get an after cleaning shot ?

I've used naval jelly on chamber and rifling that's looked like this. If it's not stainless you have to watch to not get it on any blueing it will remove it. I tape it off anywhere I can to prevent this. It will eat rust and then scrub clean oil she will look new. Great work.

I'm going to sugest Naval Jelly to the boss.

I'm a little surprised no one has had any suspicions about what this gun actually is..... :mrgreen:

It looks like a an artillery gun 105 mm? As the rifling an such plus the ability to open the breech in the way the pics look.
