Let's See Your Savage

Post by klr »

Here's mine. I put this together this winter. It started as a .308 and I fitted a Shaw barrel in 358 Winchester. It came as a 24" but I cut and recrowned it at 20." I still have to work up the perfect load, but right now I'm shooting a cast 200 gr flat nose at 1825 fps.
I took Pricedo's recommendation and installed a Quake Claw sling. Feels great.

Still to come: Install a 2-7x40ish scope, coat that bright barrel, and work up a load around 2000 fps with a softer bullet.

good work keep us posted mine is not a centerfire but very accurate and alot of internal polishing to really make the accutrigger superb I also have a single shot adapter in her. Made by someone on rimfirecentral.
Savage 93BVTS .17HMR accraglassed into the laminate stock and she is a tack driver at long range.

My 10FCM Scout chambered in 7.63X39 continues to impress me since it's warranty return. 154-grain ammo showed up today as well as the screw set for the scout base that CS removed. Besides going back through the factory ammo I have, I bought the Lee TLC312-160-2R mold. I don't see the 2R nose being a hunting bullet but it will hold me until I get my custom mold.

Nice rifles guys! I think we have another member with a Hog Hunter.

Does it count if the company was later bought by Savage? If so:

Not mine, of course, they belong to my kids.
Savage Cub Mini, Savage Cub T, two Savage Rascals (consecutive numbers) and a Stevens Marksman.

Well, I thought about a camo finish on my Savage, but maybe now I'll go with a purple pony. Awesome work, 7.62.
Stevens pic is great. Someone in your family?

I always thought black and white (or sepia) made the best pictures, especially in ways to bring out the fine details. Give me a box of old (or new) family pictures and I tend to gravitate to the b/w's first.

Very nice photo work.
