Disappointment, new rear sight
Well, tried out my new folding rear sight from Steve's Gunz this morning. This was a birthday gift from the wife, along with some other things such as the still backordered Taurus tang sight. I had no problem driving out the factory rear sight, the dovetail is nice and crisp with no sign of being forced. The new sight is way too small, in fact, it's narrower than the upper edges of the dovetail. I got out the calipers and the original sight was 0.390", the upper edges of the dovetail were 0.369", and the folding rear sight base measured 0.365". No way can it be shimmed. I sent a message to Steve, I must have gotten one out of spec.
