saddle ring
Ok, the saddle ring. It clinks when I hunt.Too noisy. Has anyone ever seen the old pictures of a wrapped saddle ring? In leather? Or perhaps wrapped in paracord? I don't want to "just cut it off!" The saddle ring that is! Tips? How do you start the wrap? Glue? Thanks all.

Re: saddle ring
Loop a leather boot lace through it as in the forum logo picture. It doesn't need to be that long but it will cure any noise.

Re: saddle ring
I've seen that before. But had seen a fully wrapped saddle ring and prefered that look. Actually, the saddle ring was fully wrapped and had the trailing ends. I think I saw it in some old cowboy movie. I'm thinking I can start the wrap like wrapping fishing rod guides. Just wondering.

Re: saddle ring
the simple underwrap on the ends works fine.
wrap the ring with the leather wet.
after it dries a little super glue on the under wrapped ends will keep it there.

If for some reason you so not like the leather look, cut some electrical tape in half and wrap it in two spots.
