7-30 Waters anyone?

Yep, it's me - the local ADHD poster child. At least I'm 53 and can take a joke.

Anyhow - I've been taking some baby steps reloading with a classic Lee Loader "roll yer own" kit for the .38 Special/.357 Magnum pistol, and I am on another tangent!

Michael, guys - anyone here have experience with a Winchester 94 in 7-30 Waters, or rebarreled a Rossi or something lever-action in this chambering?
I'm like my dog Wolfgang - the official Squirrel Hunter - on this one-track focus for the current moment.

Just got a bit of history schoolin' on all the various efforts to make good things happen with the .38-55 case, and the .30-30 iterations in general. Of course Ranch Dog's .35-30 is one reason I'm talking about this.

OK that's that - any 7-30 Waters guys?

I've never seen one. The immediate problem I see is the lack of flat point bullets.

Michael - and you, the lead boolit master, sayin' this! Yeah, you're right. Not many selections, but I'm sure there are some lead bullet guys who have made stuff for this recipe.

Yeah, the 7-30 Waters never made it with the lever rifles like it could have with the whole "no pointy bullets" thing - limiting the possible awesomeness of the incredible range of 7mm spitzers etc.

However, it was made briefly in the Win 94, and it is currently available in the T/C Contender series single-shot guns.

Oh well - another weird .30-30 tangent that might not go anywhere for me, but OK!

Maybe if you could get Hornady to make an FTX bullet in 7mm . . .

In general, you will find very few selection of molds for the 7mm from any of the suppliers. I looked at Accurate, Lee, and NOE and the latter is the only one that had an appropriate bullet; the 288-135-FN GC F1.
