I'm enjoying the reading Don and it looks like you turned the R92 357 Mag into a Marlin 35 Rem! Of course, a much tighter package and I bet if you buy the brass with a little thought as you noted earlier in this, much easier to find than the obsolete 35 Rem.

It would be fun to run the stuff with the pressure trace equipment!

Thanks RD, yes the brass is made when the demand hits their limit. 50,000 pieces, I once heard. And it can be made from 357 Max but that's a lot of cutting and you'd need to ream it to they say.

Yes, I would love to see what the pressure trace would be. All the primers look fine and still had rounded edges. On the last couple steps in the ladder, the flat part of the primer was getting flatter. And they were standard primers.

Yeah, I would like to see the real pressures instead of all this guess work. I Kept thinking that I would feel it get sticky extracting, but never did.

Maybe I can load some more tomorrow or Monday and get back out there Tuesday to see if I can find the limit with 300MP.

I for got to mention. I do want to find the top limit so that I'll know the range I have to work with. Then I'll go back to loading and try to see what it's doing accuracy wise.

I do shoot at a target while using the chrono, but it is just to make sure that I'm NOT aiming at the chrono. All that shooting was done on one target at 25 yards. I did put a few different dot on it to see what the different bullets would do. But the main load ladder portion all went into one big hole. So it did not ruin the gun, but I don't think it helped either. I'll try some at 50 when I figure out how much powder it likes.

One interesting thing showed up on the target, and that was the 5 shot group of the 180 grain FPJ bullet. I ASSumed it would do the worst cause of the heaviest bullet in the group. Nope, it actually had the smallest group! I did not take a lot of time aiming cause I was only interested in checking speed. Nor did I let it cool any and fired the whole thing in about an hour and a half. It would cool when they would call for a cold range to go change targets. They kept asking me if I wanted to change mine......Nope.
When I try for accuracy, I suspects the groups to shrink a good bit.

All within the price of a Rossi! RSI Wireless Pressure Trace II System
It really hasn't gone up in price over the years either, just gotten better. I had the original "I" and it met the end of its support life so I bought II because I was tired of all the wires.

What I want know is a LabRadar chronograph. Oh hell, I shouldn't have said that...

That's a cool chrono RD. Would be nice to be able to know the velocity down range without having to put a chrono down there. Not having to shoot through screens would be great too.

So has any body here had actual experience with the Labradar? I see it's out of stock and over due at Midway.

Well, I sold three rifles this week that I hadn't been shooting so I went ahead and bought one, the complete setup with the table base, cover, and external battery pack. I've been trying to do ALL my load work across a chronograph because the information is valuable. I was shooting my Rem 722 chambered in 300 Savage this morning and the wind blew my Caldwell over and I thought... "that's it". Came back to the house and ordered everything from Labradar. I looked at MidwayUSA but I don't want things split into two orders. According to the Labradar website my purchase is for an early 2016 delivery.

I had signed up early this year and during September received a notice that it was time but passed. It was $500 then.

The owner reviews I've read are that it is the cat's meow. I like my Caldwell and when used with the LED screens has been near 100% dependable (very few error messages). I'm just tired of setting it up. My berms are slightly staggered so every time I change the shot distance during my load work I have to stop and get it set back up. The Labradar will allow me to shoot through the changes.

Guess this one needs split. At least I didn't derail this one this time.

Got it covered in another topic in "The Shooting Range" so we can drop it here. Carry on with the 360DW!
