Got it done, not bad for first try.
Note: Heavy Duty leather punch from Hobby Lobby, piece of chinese junk.

I wondered when you said you bought one whether it was worth the money.
I have one from Harbor Freight that I figured was probably questionable given the source.
It works so far to punch extra holes in belts and such.

For a single hole as in a belt..no problem. When lining up the seams and punching through the two layers, again no problem, the frame though distorted the minute i started working the tool to cut completely through. It actually bent the framework that the rotating wheel rides on, canting the cutter. Once bent there was no permanent fix, just had to rebend as needed throughout the process to keep the cutter perpendicular to the base. I recall from working leather many years ago, they make a single punch much like a nail set. This would have been a good backup for this, letting the rotary tool punch mark the leather on the second piece then finish it off with the induvidual punch.

I think you may be able to get the single punch from a place called Sailrite. MAYBE.
Another place I might check is Zach White Leather but the shipping costs there have kept me from placing an order.

I need a snap to repair a holster and by the time I make an order I'll end up spending $30-60 plus shipping if I'm not careful and wind up with a lot of bits in my parts and tool bins I probably will never use.

Yeah Arch, funny how it always works out that way. Im sure their are those who could mail you a snap but you would need the dies to compress it in place and there goes the rub. For me, enjoying it as much as i did but have no ergency, i think ill just keep my eyes peeled locally and see what pops up. Im not a yard sale kind of person that some do as a hobby just to see what they could find but maybe something along those lines. A buddy who passed about a year ago now was a leather enthusiast, i should ask his son what he did with his dads stuff. I believe he even had an industrial strength leather stitcher, old cast iron type. Not something you would find every day. Thanks for the heads up on sources.
