Does that use the same type cathode/anode parts that are used in the home made barrel cleaning tub?

And try to resist KH's w/w bait ... I found out that $35 won't cover the gas money

JD
What homemade barrel cleaning tank?

But you do put a cathode made out of aluminum or lead in the cooker. The part is the anode.

Yep. The gas money that we paid to get to AU was quite a bit more than $35

Hi Don I don't want to take away from your amazing work. But of course you pay more for Aus :(
So if you come here look at the rock bivvy accommodation I was showing JD :) cut your costs to food and blankets and with one of your anodized cooking stove's LOOK at the Savings

"pay more for Aus" what do you mean?

I've been hinting to the wife that maybe we should go to NZ for our next "big" trip.

But I really want to spend a few days/nights at Fiji or New Caledonia in one of those huts over the water.

OH,
I'll let you and JD share the rock cave thingy. I'm not all that crazy about that kinda thing. I like motels and restaurants. But if I were out in the wild, and that cave and a can of beans was all I had, I would love it.

Matching color batch to batch with anno is a problem a lot of commercial factories struggle with.
It gets to be a PITA with bicycle parts when someone is paying premium prices for color anno and the handlebar / stem / headset / bar end plugs / pedals / seatpost clamps etc. don't match up.

I think there's a trick to the shiny vs. matt finishes but I'm uncertain exactly what it is. I thought it was involving the sealing of the process but it has been a long time since I looked into it.

I know I've had to order anno processing on parts for aircraft in the past and some Boeing spec parts were anodized, then primed with an erosion resistant 2 part epoxy primer and after installation top coated to match the livery of the aircraft they were going on.

There were export concerns with those parts as Europe had restrictions on the anno process they would allow shipped in and several of the modification installations were happening in Germany.

Well, the scope base turned out pretty good. More of a deep chocolate instead of a black. This is right after boiling to seal the anno, and I have not put any oil on it yet. That usually makes parts look blacker and shiny.

That really looks good Don! I will Rossi did this instead of "dipping" them in paint. That creates all kinds of issues for the shooters.

thanks RD,

yes, metal to metal should make for a better attachment. Now if I just had an old barrel that I could spin in the lathe while pushing the base up against it, all coated in grinding/lapping compound. Maybe I could get the base to actually fit the barrel correctly. That would help a lot toward making a more firm fit.
