Homemade Rossi 92 dry fire device

Post by singleshotcajun »

Today is my normal NRA Cowboy Silhouette match day at PSC in Pearland,TX . I forgot that I had promised to smoke a brisket for a church potluck tomorrow. I am home bound smoking a brisket on the Big Green Egg and suddenly inspiration strikes . I thought, why not make a dry fire device for the R 92 similar to an AR 15 and M1 Garand/M1-A dry fire device, basically a hammer block. I have used these Service rifle dry fire devices to good effect practicing for Service rifle matches.I cut a simple piece of plastic from a wire brush handle and ground it to .380" wide to fit the slot in the bolt. Now I can thumb cock the hammer and dry fire on a target in the back yard to my hearts content without harming the firing pin. From thought to completion was about fifteen minutes.

Got one of them too. Love the Big Green Egg, got a Pig Butt on it now doing the low slow eighteen hour smoke.

I like the dry fire device and also love making jerky and other smoked treats are awesome. Less try and keep on track guys. I do love food my gut tells me, but head wonders why I can no longer see my feet. Lol. Just try to have any post relate to op's subject which is the dry fire device. The green egg is a secondary that the op mentioned. So green egg smoker n ham mmmmmm sounds good. Lol
