Mag tube screw

Anybody have any suggestions on how to get a stuck mag tube plug screw loose. I don’t want to break it off .i do have hollow ground screwdriver set but it won’t budge!! This is on a 92 44 mag 20 inch

Some times seating the screw driver dead straight and solid in the slot and giving it a wack with a non-marring mallet will do the job. Don't really like using hammers on guns but sometimes you gotta'. You could also try soaking it with either Kroil or Marvel Mystery Oil for a day or so. Both a very thin and tend to creep into tight spaces. I may take several applications. I wouldn't think that the factory would use thread locker on that screw but then again, so light heat locally applied might solve the problem.

One or more of these have always served me with stuck screws on my guns, YMMV.

Thanks for the info new to lever guns but willing to learn I just like to work on my own stuff if possible
