Re: Kentucky Dave sez hello!
Will do. Probably I'll go to the range next Sat.
BTW, I just realized we were supposed to do more of an introduction in this section.
I played music professionally beginning in my teen years in the 1960s into my '40s as my primary or sole means of income (rock to folk to country to bluegrass). Moved from Kentucky to far Northern CA in the process. Stopped the musician's lifestyle (ie, gave up drinking) in the '90s and went back to school; got a degree in Administration of Justice, then moved to the Bay Area and graduated law school & now work in Estate Planning. Still have a band (Beargrass Creek) with my significant other and a couple of friends and play music, just not for a living.
Began shooting in the Jr. NRA as a kid. Got my first handgun, a Colt .45 Commander, when I turned 21. I've had many since then to come & go. Shot USPSA for quite a while in Northern CA and am still a member, but not active anymore. The avatar photo is from a few years back when active in USPSA. Can't see it in that tiny photo, but the .45 Colt is flat and there are three shell casings in the air close together.
Thanks for welcoming me to your forum!

Re: Kentucky Dave sez hello!
So far, so good!!
Through music I've met and touched a lot of people, which is my good fortune. I've made wonderful friends, opened for stars, most of whom were great folks, but a couple of jerks. I'm in a meaningful day job (although if I won the Lotto I'd be back to only playing music and shooting guns in a heartbeat!)...
Life is good! (although in my early years playing music, I never considered getting to the age where I'd have to fill out Medicare paperwork...)
I suspect that you, as someone interested in Rossi lever guns AND AK's (and finds time to moderate a forum) are not a boring character either!

I love music, all kinds. I have a musical family. I don't play anything mostly because life is taking my time but I hear music like a musician. You have a great story. Thanks for sharing.

FWIW, a guy on GunBroker has a rifle just like mine in a slightly higher serial number range (mine is M0038XX and his is N004XXX) which he says is from the mid-70s.
IF he is correct and mine is from the early '70s, that'd be cool. Guns and guitars, older is generally better!

Got a new pal for my .44 Rossi 92 - a .44 Ruger Blackhawk, 1976 model!
