Well, the rumor is getting stronger. Although, that's a pretty big financial bite to to chew for someone the size of Taurus.

Other than the brand equity in the name, not much of Marlin left to sell. :(

I'm not sure that Is true.
Somebody in the range club house who bought a couple of Remlins last week for his boys said they (2 1894s) were pretty good.
The checkering, sights, w/m fit and actions were decent NIB.
I'm happy with the 1895G & 1895GS that I bought as winter projects last year after I pretty near rebuilt them with 3rd party parts.
The guns are passable now after almost 5 years under the Remington umbrella.
