One of my coworkers was showing this a day or two ago.
Jury was still out on whether or not it was real or fake.
I've heard of folks shooting old tube TVs and having the tube base come at them, even embedded in trees behind the shooter.

Then there was the YouTube of the guy shooting steel and getting his earmuffs knocked off by the ricochet.

I have seen plenty of steel ricochets in my lifetime. You got to be real careful and make sure it is hung right.

Yeah, and you have to be real careful what you are shooting at with what.
In my experience hard cast lead will shatter on steel and in most cases regardless of angle come back if not AT the shooter in a cone from the impact. As a result bystanders and spectators can be in more danger than the shooter.

The vid I mention above claims what's an improbable distance for a bounce back but I suspect isn't faked.

Cast lead on the hangers I built general splatter and fall down in front of the steel. The ones I built are mild steel but nearly an inch thick so barely distorted.

Commercially sourced 3/8" plate spinner at 100 yards from a 16" AR using 55-grain 5.56X45 and open military sights while standing.

That was a .50bmg round. Damn lucky it hit the earmuff and not his face! They called him Headshot Willie on The High Road forum.

I always wondered if that was really a 50 and if so what kind the description was a little light on details and I suspected something else besides BMG or if there was something odd about that load and or target.

I know that when I'm at my handgun training there are a lot of bullets being returned back to the line and this is at a very well constructed range.
