New beginnings of a past life

Post by Moon Tree »

I'm sharing this, because this forum has been inspirational in my decision to once again pursue one of my passions. The feedback I've received on Rossi Rifleman from my hunting stories has given me the itch to start writing, again.

In the early '90's I spent 3 years attempting a career as an outdoor writer. I had quite few articles published. But, I realized that I could not produce an article a week to keep the lights on for my family. There's a lot of work and expense that goes into planning a hunt, doing it and providing photo support for the story and then there's actually writing the story.

I'm now at the point in my life where just keeping the lights on isn't as difficult as it was in my 20's. So, at 57 I've decided to live my dream.

I've alluded to a bear hunt with my Rossi .45 Colt in several posts. That's going to be one of my first articles. Bear Hunting magazine and Modern Pioneer are both interested in this article. I'm expecting to hear from a couple other magazines in this few weeks.

I'm excite about this new chapter in my life and wanted to share it with my friend on Rossi Rifleman.

Sounds like an interesting way to move on into the "Golden Years". Hunting and shooting !

Good luck.
I know another fellow who's got his first book published a year ago and I'd like to see his second make that mark.
