So long for now my friends
As the subject line suggests, you won't be seeing me around much for awhile, so i thought i would share with you whats up. Many friends here are new, some old and many i no longer see as of late, but perhaps a few recall my ramblings of a tall tale regarding my 1000 acre ranch in Montana to simply be able to have my own range for shooting and load development. Well, its still a tall tale, but I have always loved western Montana since my days as a student at U of M in the early '80. Never thought i would leave, and then when i did, ive wanted to get back. Fast forward to now and ive been given a chance of a life time. An old friend from Montana has invited me on a road trip, preparing now to leave in a few days, that will take us west from Eastern NC to every historical site and national park from here to the Redwoods of California. Then follow the Columbia river east through Idaho, into Montana. Explore Glacier and Yellowstone for awhile then head up into Canada to old Hwy 1, east to Maine. I had hoped to bring my Rossi' with me but given Canadas lenghly paperwork requirements i cant bring them into their country. I dont want to leave them in Montana either, so no Rossi'. Once in Maine, we'll zig zag south exploring New England before returning home. No schedule, so return date is open, rather wide open. My only need will be for November and the elections, other then that, other then perhaps being home sick, no stress. Wish you all well, RD, hope you reach your goal fund wise. As the CB guys would say, hope to catch up with you all on the flip side.

Glad to hear of your opportunity, but sad to see you leave. Look me up if you have time when you reach Washington/Idaho. Happy trails my friend.

10-4 Doc !
What a great opportunity ! What more can I say ?
If you don't have a laptop or tablet you ought to pick up one to take along.
You could drop us a line now and then just to let us know how you are doing.
Have fun ... Jim

Fantastic. Best wishes for a safe trip and many wonderful experiences.
Heads up if you drive in Texas. They sometimes decide not to bridge stream beds in rural areas, and simply run the pavement into the stream bed, without warning. It's possible to go airborne and land in loose gravel where the stream crosses the road.
