Differences in long gun and revolver warranties

Post by Ranch Dog »

I know the this has come up as a question on the forum and been discussed but the Rossi 2014 catalog hits on it in the product discriptions. Long guns are covered by Rossi's one year warranty and handguns are covered by the "Taurus" lifetime warranty.

The Taurus is the life of the gun not the buyer. That is pretty sweet!!

But there is a twist... The warranty does not cover grips, sights, accessories, cosmetic defects after one year, or damage caused by customer abuse at any time. Taurus will not be responsible for these items.

Not saying this is the case with Rossi but typically most of the "escape clauses" in favor of the seller big enough to drive an 18-wheeler through will be in the fine print that nobody reads and the post purchase extended warranties on most products these days are just a scam.
They should print warranties on toilette tissue so at least they'd be good for something.
