an afternoon of 92 Rossi shooting success!

Post by alphalimafoxtrot »

Well,
I just had to make a note about the day I spent at my local WMA with my Rossi 92, Taurus 85 snubbie, and Ruger Security Six .357.
Flipping the loading gate spring to the proper direction made all the difference in the world - now, my 92 locks and loads anything I feed down the mag tube. Whether it's 38 Special LRN, FMJ, RNFP, LSWC or any kind of .357 125/140/158-grain RNFP/SWC/JHP it all cycles!

This is just something that was really worth my time taking the cartridge guides apart and figuring out.

Also, this whole shootfest today further vindicated my new foray into reloading for these 2 rounds. Every round went bang, and they all fed just fine. I was using the Badman Bullets red poly-coated 130-grain LSWC and RNFP. I think that was what they are. Anyhow, just sharing the good outcome. Hope everyone has a great day, and remembers why we honor Memorial Day this long weekend!

thanks for listening.

Very nice! Spent yesterday afternoon at the range with my latest acquisition--a used 24" octagonal barreled 92 in 357 magnum. A very accurate rifle, and it fed the Federal 158 gr JSP's just fine, even though they were a little tempermental to load at times. They seemed to be catching on the entrance to the mag tube. I have not had it apart yet to clean it up0 and smooth it out.

My 20" was doing that exact same thing. I installed both a SS follower and the shortened spring and that catching went away. I am not sure which one of the 2 cured it but after the switch, no issues at all with loading.
