yep.
I think just about everyone's deer seasons are over except maybe a bow hunt or a late season muzzle loader here and there.
ours has been closed since October, Elk was right after into the first week of November.

you'd need a snowmobile to get to the range and the ice isn't thick enough to drill a hole through yet [shrug]
so wadda ya do?

Yeah, not much going, here or at home. I just hosted a youth antlerless deer hunt on Sunday morning. Two kids took three does.

I start wondering what Rossi will introduce for the year right about now.

Im here, not posted much lately, just running around the farm, seems there is always something to do.
I try to check in every day, see what is going on.

Just reworked the lifter on my 92 44 mag so it will take the Keith 429421.
Used a jewelers file set along with some nail biting and sweat.
It cycles the bullet perfectly, and still cycles 44 special also.

Just got an email from brownells, one day only, spend $150 on powder or primers, get fee shipping and 1 cent hazmat fee
Just ordered 8# unique, with tax, $161.12 to my door.

I was looking at a new taurossi 92 the other day.
it was in 357 and was pretty tight all the way around, the wife asked if I wanted it [well yeah]
but I already have one just like it.
if it would have been a 24" barreled rifle I'd have been all over it.

Trapper that little bit of filing will be worth it, my stainless 24" loves the 241.
I shoot it on a super reasonable load of 9.3grs. of unique, and it responds to my sight setup almost a perfect 3"s per click at 100yds.

I believe I spent an entire Saturday working on it.
Yesterday I fired a couple of HSM bear loads, then took the two fired shells,(starline brass) wiped them off with a cotton cloth and tried them in my SBH, they went right in, on all cylinders.
One shell was a little snug, but pushed right in and ejected easily.
I have an original ideal 429421 single cavity mold, no vent lines on this mold, looked unused when I bought it off ebay.
I think I dated it around the 1940s.
Makes a perfect bullet.
I also picked up a single cavity round ball ideal mold, .437.
believe it was made for gallery loads back in the day.
Sized to .430 with a dusting of bullseye, extremely accurate and quiet at 25 yds.

I have a lyman square lube groove mold.
it can be a little grumpy about letting go of the bullets if I get impatient and don't slow myself down when casting with it.
I mostly use the 429667 now though, I lapped out a little and made it nice and smooth.
it just slings bullets [since it's a 4 cavity] and they flow through the lubesizer super easy, plus the 44-40 likes them if I seat them a titch deeper to mimic a 200gr bullet.

the 421 still see's plenty of use in the lever rifle, and especially in the 44 special revolvers.

I bought the 429667, 2 cavity.
It does drop bullets super easy.
Made up some dummy rounds, I new they would cycle though.
Good reliable bullet for sure.
