Wow, 1000 hogs. I'll bet you've learned a lot from that. Do you have a favorite/most effective bullet/velocity?
Slow and heavy? Light and fast? Heavy and fast? Soft cast, hard cast, jacketed?

All the above!

I do think that you need 1K FPE, not at the muzzle but at the terminal end, to knock them off their feet with a high shoulder shot. A hog is going to run no matter what, they can do it with on all four legs or they can run laying on their side kicking dust up in the air with their feet. They seem to have a base muscle, chicken with its head cut off type of thing, that will let them put about 50 yards of distance from the point of stress. They can do that without breathing and a heart pumping so a blood trail can be tough to find given the heavy cover they prefer.

I would put him at 200 to 225 lbs.

I kind of figured that would be the answer. Based on my deer culling, anything works if you have enough energy and put it in the right spot.

Interesting. I've only dealt with farm hogs, but they are tough animals.

I don't know who this guy is but I always share this with anyone that has not hunted them before.

At 6:10 he drops one like a sack of potatoes. It's still for an instant, and then it starts "running".

Yeap . They are going to do it while on their feet or on their side, your choice.
