First deer with my Rossi 92

Post by TheWhiteMexican »

Got my first crack at a deer with the 16" .357 this afternoon. He's young, only 3 or so, and I probably should have let him walk but he presented me with a perfect broadside at about 55 yards and my wife had been bugging me for some venison so I figured the time was better than ever.

Shooting the .357 Hornady Leverevolutions off sticks. Hit him a little high but got the top portion of both lungs and he only went about 30 or 40 yards.

Not my biggest deer ever but I'm pretty happy to get a chance to shoot the lever action at something more than a can for once. I've never used one to take an animal before so it was a good moment. [emoji2]

I'd call that a trophy, right there. That smile say you think the same thing. Nice shootin'.

Looks like a darn nice buck to me. I wouldn't have passed him up!

I have never found a tasty recipe for large horns. Nice deer. That one would have been hard to pass up.

You got complete pass through correct? Obviously the bullet did the job, but how was the internal damage?
