Awww poo on Alaska, Come go pig hunting with us.
Well that would be an instant divorce. :(

The hunt is this weekend!!

There is still time for any last minute people to join in.

As usually happens, our numbers have dwindled, and there are only three of us scheduled to be there now. Life always seem to get in the way of fun doesn't it.

I'm taking Rossi 92s in 360 Dan Wesson, 44 magnum, and my 45 Colt. Since we will have two hunts per day. I should have time to try them all. But of course just because I'm taking the guns, does not mean I'll get to "use" them all. That would be a lot of pork!

My son asked me the other day, "recon if we should take something with a scope on it?" "So we might ACTUALLY hit something"!!!! I tell you what. Birth em, feed em, raise em up to adulthood, and this is how they respond. I was going to let him use one of my guns, but now I might just let him use his Marlin 44 that he has not shot in 5-6 years, and has no idea of where the sights are set. OR, I could drift the sights way off on my 44 and let him use that! But I won't do that. I would rather see him hit stuff than miss wildly. Plus, they have a shooting range there and we will have a sighting in session before the actual hunts.

If this goes like the bird hunt me and two of my sons went on. We will enjoy the sight in as much as the hunt. The bird shoot included a clay piegon session so you could get sorta dialed in. But I think is was really so the guide could "size up" who he was going into the woods with. I'm sure they get a lot of first time people. And it would get pretty scary for them if the birds happened to, fly his way! But we had a blast shooting the clays, and the guide got in there with us and started really making them fly and filling the sky with a number of clays. I think he was trying to see if he could pull his trigger, faster than we could pull ours, and reload too. We went through about 10 or 12 boxes of shells in just a few minutes, once we got warmed up. I tried to get the close ones, and the kids were picking up the long, and low ones, that got by me. When he stopped, we asked to continue and just give us less live birds. He said we had shot up all his clays, so we had to move on. LOL
