Elmer Fud

Post by Bibletotingunslinger »

Back when I was heavy into rabbit, kids had to come with. So this one time we are with a whole bunch of guys, kind of a rabbit drive thing???
So I come walking up this hill to find my boy, standing there with his bb gun all ready to shoot, with a rabbit sitting right between his feet, I told him "Look down!" He got all flustered , bout shot him self in the foot,,,,,rabbit got away that day.
Don't ask me to do anything where where I can't take Bible and Gun, I would leave Dog home, but reluctantly.

All good memories. When I was a kid, I walked many a mile hunting rabbits with a long forgotten 22RF. Took up a recurve bow and them rabbits became all the critters that Fred Bear was hunting on the American Sportsman.

Good story! I grew up on a farm in N Central Kansas. Just about every farm had a least one hedgerow or shelter belt. I used to walk the half mile hedgerow on the East property line. I can't remember ever walking that half mile down and back without getting one or more rabbits. Now days, most of the good cover is gone, and been replaced by pristine farm land. Those were some great memories.
At my age, there IS nothing better than shooting.
