Proper sizing for a revolver?

My circuit judge has very oversized chambers 3x 456 & 2x 455 . But the barrel is right on at .451-.452 . I now have moulds of .452 , 454, 456, 457 & 4585" I have 2x Lee 454 sizers one in case I have to hone one out to 455 & I can get a Lee 457 . I don't know what size to size my bullets too. I have hi-tek bullet coating from oz or I'll powder coat. I really wanted to use the Lee 255 rnfp pb at 10.5 bhn & my 251gr cbe hppb @ 1050-1100 fps. How much can bullets of 10.5-13 bhn be sized down by the forcing cone / barrel ? my delema is best compromise of cylinder sealing & bullet swaging . Any advice ?

What I've never understood is that Rossi makes a great revolver, but it is almost like a different outfit that never has built a revolver produces the CJ.

I'm going to take a guess ... under the given circumstances I believe I would run them through the .454 sizer. Seems to be the best average between the two, and hopefully there won't be too much pressure loss (or leading) due to the oversized chamber throats. They may be somewhat tight then going into the barrel, but the softer bhn bullet should be able to size down to fit.

just my uneducated guesstimate :)

I'm guessing you can't get a different cylinder that might be made properly or at least tight on all chambers.

At one time and with circumstances as posted, a revolver cylinder would have been "sleeved" to the cartridge's spec.

yes, but doesn't that require the finesse and artfulness of a professional, hand's-on machinist? Are we still making those?

I was going to make a comment about that, with the same line of thought.

I would size to 456. [and probably 457]
yeah it sounds wrong but squeezing down a bullet straight versus slamming one forward crooked might help you shoot groups instead of mimicking the 410 shells that most guys end up sticking with.
if it were mine and i was going to shoot 45's in it I would pull the cylinder off and send it out to have the throats cut to the same [largest] diameter.
