Ranch Dog,

Thanks for the info. I had thought that the groove diameter specified for 9mm was smaller than the groove diameter for .357. However, from the info on your drawing (9.02mm for .357) and the Wikipedia information (9.02mm for 9mm) it looks like they have the same specification, at least if the specification in Wikipedia is correct.

Now I am wondering, if the groove diameter specification is the same for 9mm and .357 then why are the cast bullet diameters different?

They aren't for me, I shoot .357" bullets for out of my PT111. Here is the SAAMI drawing...

There are two huge mistakes most bullet casters make when selecting a cast bullet for the 9mm Luger; they use a .355 or .356 bullet, and/or they use a plain base bullet.
