Great I had a .458 sizer die made for me by Rick Tunell as wells as a powder compressor for my 12 ga shot shells using the RCBS cowboy dies. Thanks for recommending him to me. He does some really nice work for a good price. I have a bunch of 405 gr bullets in 45-70 that are .459 that I want to take down then.

Please feel free to add your measurements. As a standard, a lead teardrop fishing sinker with a hole through the longitudinal axis should be used. The measurement should be taken with a micrometer to .XXX5", a caliper should not be used.

Diameters used in this list are display "bore/groove", measured in inches.

Yeah, I need to add that! Same as the 45 Colt - 4430/.4510. The current Rossi and Taurus product line has very good barrels.

I expect that all the post CNC tool-up (Brazilian factory) Rossi 92s are close to spec.

My 92 454 Casull slugged at .451 but it acted differently than the other guns I have slugged. I got the slug started and drove it down to about half way or a little further maybe and the slug just took off on its own and more or less fell out the bottom. Anyone have that happen? I know these bores have some taper, but I have always had to pound the slug all the way.. Kind of surprised me and caused me to wonder if I did something wrong.. I have been shooting .452 and .453 ammo that I had loaded for my Marlin and Ruger BH and am getting very little leading and the accuracy seems to be improving.

Lead Bullet Technologies sells barrel slugs that I use now. Used to drive the soft bullets with a hammer but was always afraid I could damage something. The LBT slugs fit on the end of a cleaning rod and are easy to use. You can feel any tight spots in the bore.

Before slugging, you can push the slug into the muzzle. Then mark the spot at the front sight so you can put it back in the same way. Pull the slug out and measure it. Then run it down the bore, using the mark you made. Will tell you if the muzzle is bigger than the tightest spot in the barrel.

It's interesting that the .357 slugged at .3550.

Maybe this has already been commented on in the thread(?), but .3550 looks to me more like a standard 9mm. Any thought? Could Rossi be boring their .357 to a 9mm standard instead of .357 standard?

Rossi is doing it exactly like they are supposed to rather than taking off on their own. One reason I like the outfit! From the SAAMI drawing references...
