New NOE molds

Post by donhuff »

The mail lady left me a couple of goodies a few hours ago. So I go right down to it and cast up a few, as I plan to go to the range tomorrow, and I wanted to see how this new bullet will do in my new witness 38 super. It looks good and without any grease or crimp grooves, the bullets would almost jump out of the mold when I opened it
I loaded a few into some 357 brass as I have really good results using the Lee 125rf in that caliber. So I'm betting this one will do good too.

The other bullet is the 311008. It is a copy of an old Lyman bullet. I use it in my ruger blackhawk 30 carbine and a ruger buckeye 32-20. I lapped out my old Lyman mold to get the slugs big enough to fit the 32-20 as it has a .313 bore. So I needed a new mold for the 30. And I plan to put that bullet to use in a rossi one day.

What mold are you using for the grooveless boolits?

I've got a NOE mold that drops grooveless hollowpoints for 9mm but no crimp groove. Looks pretty similar; I've also got the pins to turn it into a RNFP.

I'm using one of his Hi Tech Coating style bullets http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/product_in ... g07ona0533

I do not worry about if a bullet has a crimp groove or not. I like the ones without cause you can crimp wherever you want to. And they drop out of the mold oh so easy!

your bullets look like you have the powder coating process figured out.
