casting for 45-70

Post by morayman »

I want to get a Lee mold for my 45-70 Wizard and I'm looking for suggestions as to which one to get. These will be target rounds at varying distances.I don't hunt so don't need hunting rounds, just accurate paper punching. Also can anyone tell me what the diamiter of the Wizard is?Thanks,morayman...........

RD I see your bullets mentioned here,do you sell the molds or can you suggest one and where I can find them? I'm a newb to 45-70,dumb as a rock about them ,but with a great background for casting and reloading! morayman........

Yeah, NOE is doing a better job than Lee right now of seeing my designs into production. Lee remains to far behind on distributor orders for their existing molds.

I no longer sell them morayman.

morayman, I have the Lee 405 F 2 hole mold, and it is doing really well in my rio grande. It's a plain base, but I have not really pushed it hard yet. 38.0 imr 4198 is as far as I have gone, and I think that might be enough for me too. But i'm not a hunter.

Greetings
I have several NOE molds and will highly recommend their molds. They are great.
I generaly buy mine through the "Group Buys" on Castboolits but on the NOE web site you can pick up any overruns still in house or others that are waiting a home.

+1 Their molds are outstanding quality!!! Unless I see something better which is doubtful I will only purchase NOE build molds.
