I reload for 14 or 15 different calibers but never loaded a 45 LC. I have read that there is a lot of difference in bore diameters in some handguns. I am planning on getting a 92 and a Ruger Blackhawk. Do you know if the bore is the same in each of those guns?
I usually use Missouri or Xtreme bullets for playing around.

Re: Handloading the 45LC
Rossi .45C's are known for generous chambers and Ruger Blackhawks in .45C are known for tight chambers.
That doesn't mean that's what you'll get.

Re: Handloading the 45LC
I use 452 in the ones I have.
never bothered slugging them just went with 452 and called it good.
both of the 24" rifles, the 20" carbine and the 45 colt revolvers have done just fine with that diameter.
the only one that didn't like 452 was the original vaquero I had it was pickier.
I ended up cutting down 454 casull brass .005 and using 453 diameter in it.

Re: Handloading the 45LC
Just about ready to order the Ruger Blackhawk with a 45 LC and 45 ACP cylinder. Since they are using the same barrel I would think that I could use the same bullets that I load my 45 ACP. Just got in 500 Starline 45 LC brass and have 500 200 grn bullets coming in from Xtreme. They were ordered for the 1911.

Re: Handloading the 45LC
I shoot a variety of commercial and home made bullets in my Rossi and convertible BH. The commercial cast I get locally range from 452 to 453, my cast can go as large as 454 and neither gun complains. Once dialed in all the loads shoot better than I do. No optics if I do my part they'll stay inside 4" at 50 yards for as many rounds as I throw down range.
