Purchasing Powder, particularly with Paypal

Hello folks, two questions. While searching for powders that i want but cannot find locally (4227 & Trail Boss) ive come up stumped. Granted ive googled a few vendors like Grafs that do sell powdet online but was hoping from some expert testimony. Further i still have money in Paypal from selling on GB that i dont want to worry about risking fraud and mixing with my account. So--

What powder vendors accept Paypal?

Where do *you* purchase powder online?

Thanky

I don't purchase on line mainly cant buy enough to off set the hazmat fee. I hear good things about Powder Valley and I thought Midway did PayPal then again might have been one of the others. Over time I've dealt with Midway, Graf, MidSouth and Brownels without any problems. It may come down to who has what you want.

PayPal'a policy prohibits firearm related purchases hence none of the regular online resources accept it. This is why many in the firearm community are anti-PayPal. I use it because I buy and sell on eBay and on forums. Get caught buying or receiving payment for a firearm related transaction and they can lock your account and/or freeze your funds.

I would transfer your PayPal funds to your bank today if you sold a gun using it.

Midway was running a sale recently where they discounted the Hazmat.
I wish I'd picked up another 8 lb container then.

Pity you aren't local, I'd hand you a pound of 4227. I much prefer 2400.

OFF TOPIC: Graff had a sale where they'd waive HAzMat with a 5K order of primers so I bought two pounds of powder too. First and possibly last time I buy powder online.

I've probably bought about half the powder I've used online.
Finding a keg local has been a pain and both kegs and pounds have generally been highly marked up compared to mail order.

You can use H110 with standard primers. I know what the book says. I expect a loading snob to gripe at me.

heck no.
standard primers are more accurate in the 44 mag with H-110.
regular ol federal's and cci- standards will usually be the worth looking at.

+1

I've used both and they go bang. They also shoot to the same POA. I have found that crimp is more a concern with H110, 296 and either 4227 than the primer. Seems like they want some pressure build up before the bullet starts moving. Some years ago I experimented a little with H110 in a 44 Mag Contender and found that no crimp left a lot of un-burned powder and crude in the barrel versus a tight crimp. Anecdotal ? Yah, but it convinced me and since they go in both a revolver and the lever guns my 357 and 45 Colt loads get a tight taper crimp.
