200 & 250gr ftx casull loads

Post by Oz judge »

I loaded up these loads in my Rossi casull , they are a single feed only or fed into the chamber with conventional loads in the magazine .
Both using starline brass & çci 400 primer & both using ADI ar2205 powder.
200gr hornady ftx projectile with 34gr of 2205 . Compressed charge
250gr hornady ftx projectile with 32gr of 2205 . Compressed charge
Both loads had no pressure signs, primers looked the same as mild trailboss loads.
I didn't chrono these but they both made a distinct crack sound . Was actually strange to hear that sound coming from a Rossi 92. I didn't do any accuracy testing & only fired these at hogs as a first shot . They went miles high , with no hits. Now this was also in extremely hot & humid weather 38 - 40 degrees C with no pressure signs at all. I won't have a chance to test them for at least 2 1/2 months mabey 3 months .
