As a note, I do like the Frankford Arsenal Reloading Trays better than the MTM Universal Tray. Titan does not carry them, but you can find them individually on eBay for around $7 with free shipping, so it doesn't affect the bottom-line of your new tool costs.

Because the trays are more compact than the MTM offering, they don't take up as much room n storage. The cartridges also fit better because they are not universal. Finally, they are shallower, so there are not any issues with the powder funnels not fully seating on the case. 357 Mag is a #4.

Agreed I have mtm trays and Frankford arsenal trays. I spill more shells from the mtm trays Than I do the Frankford trays.

Summers Enterprises bullets are top notch...I usually cast my own but I have ordered and used his bullets when I'm lazy or the weather is not playing nice (but mostly lazy)...his prices are excellent and he will ship up to four boxes in one flat rate USPS flat rate box...the last order of 2000 .45 was $136 total...

Another bullet to consider is copper plated such as those offered by Berry's...

https://www.berrysmfg.com/products/pref ... ed-bullets

On the all around powder to start out with I would recommend Unique or Hodgdon UNIVERSAL CLAYS...I personally would stay away from the low loading density fast powders like Hodgdon Titegroup (don't get me wrong, it's a great powder, but you use so little of it in a small volume it is easy to double charge a .357 case)...

TrailBoss is the safest powder due to it's being so bulky and takes up so much space in the case (little fluffy donuts) it is so easy to see a double charged case (it's pretty much impossible without compressing the charge)...you just have to be sure to use a good heavy crimp or it's pretty dirty...

A good scale and a reloading manual is a must...online recommendations on loads should be viewed with caution UNLESS it is from a powder manufacturer's website.

I can well imagine the difficulty. I find that I get the best results with my Lyman 55 and since the ground strip for my radios is handy I ground it and that at least helps with the static. So far except for some 8x57 and some 7.62x54R I've only used it in straight cases.

I recommend you get a copy of "Modern Reloading" by Richard Lee and give it a read, it will give you a good foundation to build off of.
