R92 357 Mag Best Overall Cartridge Length

Post by Hylander »

So I am going to put some loads together for my new 92 in .357 that I don't yet have
About two weeks before I get to pick it up.
Will be loading Sierra 125jsp, 158 XTP, 158 Extreme's Double plated.
What do ya'll think the ocl should be for best feeding? 38 case, 357 case
Also if you have any pet loads let me know, I have Power Pistol and HP-38, looking for some H-110

I've got some XTPs that need to be loaded in front of some H110 or 2400 for the .357 and a few more that need to be loaded in front of some Power Pistol for .38 SP.

The oal of the 38 spec and the 357 mag are similar inspite of the difference in case length.
This is due to the original revolvers starting as 38's and the same cylinder length
being used for the 357.
The original Keith 38cal swc was a long nosed design for 38 cases [38-44 high speed]
and just fit the cylinder.
When loaded in the 357, the bullet needed seated deeper [and crimped over the front driving band]
This is why I like the double crimp groove cast bullet.
short for 357, long for 38.
I yet live
