I've not shot any jacketed bullets in my 45 Colt may have to try. I actually started this because of concerns expressed about stability with big bullets in our slow twist Rossi barrels. In my Colt I shoot a nominal 300 gr cast boolit from the Lee 452300 mold with gas check and Emmert's in my alloy it goes right at 320 with this last batch. I've not detected any stability issues out to 100 yards, my range and eyeball limit. Granted I'm pushing with a stiff but not max load of H110. Unfortunately the chronograph is down and I don't know the MV.

Plan to get my experimenting done before November so I can hunker down and start hoarding stuff ;)

The 200gr XTP works well in my 44-40, loaded with enough 2400 to average 1,812fps bullet holes touch at 50yd with open sights. The wife and I have each killed a Wisconsin deer with that load, the 44mag should push it over 2,000fps. I would try a 240gr also but there is just no data for it in 44wcf. I casted up a pile of 200gr RNFP but have yet to shoot any.

A lot of people swear by using plain old .44 mag Winchester White Box 240gr. jacketed soft points on deer.
