Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
Just noted some information from Swift Bullet's in an industry newsletter I receive about Swift offering a new series of leveraction bullets this year. This is all I could find on their site:

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
I have used the Swift A-Frame bullet which is Spitzer style bullet alot like the Nosler Partition except more expensive.
The Swift Scirocco is a beefed up Nosler Ballistic Tip & again more expensive than its Nosler counterpart.

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
I am seeing prices advertised in the neighborhood of $65 for a box of 50 350 grain flatnose Swift A-Frame leveraction bullets for the 45-70.
Over $1.20 per bullet.........not cheap by any stretch.

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
Yeah, that is pretty high. My 350-grain cast bullet cost me .05/each which includes the cost of the gas check. I haven't bought a jacketed bullet in a decade now but I am happy to see outfits turning their attention to leverguns.pricedo wrote:I am seeing prices advertised in the neighborhood of $65 for a box of 50 350 grain flatnose Swift A-Frame leveraction bullets for the 45-70.

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
$1.20/bullet..........one of the many reasons that I cast my own. These A frame-based bullets will probably have some impressive expansion stats; however, I've never lost any game because my bullet didn't expand adequately. Just use a fast moving, heavy, wide meplat bullet to hammer 'em in place
Caught the casting bug a while back and now cast for: 218 Bee, 219 Zipper, 25-20, 32-20, 30-30, 32 Spl., 35Rem, 356W, 38-55, 375W, 444 Marlin and 45-70 Govt.

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
I saw a month or two ago that Swift was about to offer a .348 bullet (200 grains). I didn't know there was to be a series.
That Swift .348 bullet surprised me. I thought the demand was pretty much covered by the 200 Hornady and the Barnes for those wanting a "premium" bullet.
I was still trying to figure it out when Hornady announced a .348 FTX bullet right around the same time.
I have a Browning 71 and love it, but didn't realize there was a sudden need for .348 bullets. I doubt the limited edition Miroku Winchesters have triggered it off with incredible sales.

Geez, Barry, don't get 'ole Ranch Dog all torqued-up. Pretty soon he will be designing a mold for them old, obsolete 348W cartridges. Next thing ya' know, he'll be cozying-up to them Winnie fellas.
Everybody knows that those Winnie's ain't no good at killin' hawgs.
Dan
P.S. He starts snuggling up with the Winnie crowd, I'm gonna write his boss a letter and tell him not to let RD drive that 737 with tail #444 no more.

Re: Swift Bullet's Leveraction Series
I sure wouldn't hate having something called, say "Ranch Dog TLC350-235" or "TLC350-245" or "TLC350-200", or...
Wait... driving a 737? Tail number? Does Ranch Dog fly a 737? I used to torque on those myself.

Yeah, don't tell my mom. I don't want her knowing how low I've stooped in my life! I flew a brand new 737 one day with a nose number of "444". I took my picture with it and used it on a couple of the forums where we discussed the 444 Marlin. I do not know what happened to that picture. Funny but I've flown Boeing jets most of my life and I've only got a couple of years left. I have very few pictures, if any, of me involved in this activity.Barry in IN wrote:Wait... driving a 737?
