Mossberg 472 30/30

Post by AhnkoChee »

Anyone else here own a Mossberg model 472 30/30? This gun is usual like a bastard child of a Browning BLR and a Marlin 336. It has the same basic action of the marlin 336 but with the lever of a BLR in which the trigger drop with the lever when worked. It also has a hammer-block safety lever on the left side of receiver. The butt stock is attached via long bolt which goes up the butt stock to attach to receiver ala pump shotgun, no tang no tang bolt like a Marlin has. I could not turn it down for $120.00.

For a $120 I would not turn it down either. I've just seen them on the internet and would like to hear how it shoots!

I've never had one, and don't remember when/if I've ever seen one, but I do remember them in the Mossberg catalog around 1977/78 maybe. They had some interesting, slightly different guns around that time, like the Pedersen bolt actions.

A friend grew up with a Mossberg Palomino. I always thought he needed a 472 to go along with it.

I'd grab one for $120. Or twice that. Maybe three times.
