Don't know and don't care anymore as I'm going to get rid of it, it was a mistake to buy it. The bolt needs attention, got a lot of slack from one end to the other. I saw this on a YouTube before I bought it but didn't believe it, but you can physically flex the bolt. I put the shim kit on it. The trigger is awful, I've never owned a firearm with this bad of trigger. I bought the Basix trigger kit but decided I didn't want to do the work as the rifle needs to show me a little and I could never get any usable group from the rifle with my 250, 275, or 300-grain bullets. The stock needs quite of bit of work. There is extreme barrel contact with the stock and the wood around the magazine needs to be relieved. I must load the rifle like it has a blind magazine. I should send it back to Ruger, but I've lost interest in the rifle. If I sent it in and got it back, I would sell it immediately without shooting it. Plus, Ruger sent this out the door like it is along with many others with the same issues so why would they fix it now?

My Marlin 1894P, Rossi R92, and now the Win M94TS make the 77/44 look horrible downrange.

Yeah, but I'm so tickled that with both of my Timber Scouts I haven't given the 77/44 a thought. I sell everything on GunBroker through my FFL. He takes care of everything for 10%. Drop the gun off and it is done.

Your converting the M94 30-30 to 35/30-30?
Hmm, I may have to do some thinking on this for one of my 94s or JM marlins.
I would only have to worry about the die set and making up the brass.
Ive got plenty of molds for the 357 magnum already.
Ive got another marlin that i would like to cut down to 16", have it gun metal black cerakoted, add a saddle ring, etc.
Wonder if the barrel could handle heavy bear loads after having the bore opened up, would it weaken the barrel?

I think there is plenty of metal left. JES has been converting 30-30s to 38-55 and 375 Win for years.

Sorry, I misspoke when I said "the" old one. I should have said "an" old one. I understand that you have an M94 problem.

The GoJo & 0000 steel wool method is an old furniture refinishers trick. A lot of old finishes are sound, but just need a good cleaning. This is a very agressive waterless cleaning method that leaves the original finish intact, as long as you don't rub too hard. If you're inclined to follow up with a wax, give it a couple of weeks for the solvents to off gas and the finish to harden.

I'm about to take possession of a Savage 99 with a dirty stock, and this is how I'm going to attack it.
