BTW this style is way easier to get the bolt and lever out of than a 92. I can also see how a 92 can take much more abuse.

My rifle came with a rail on the receiver, right now I want to take it off but need plug screws to fill the holes. Any one now 6-48 0rn 8-40?

Thanks,

Same here.
Marlin is much easier to take down.
But The 92 can handle higher pressures, but is lighter.

Questions for those of you with 38-55s particularly those that had a JES rebore to get one. I've been looking at reloading supplies and find that Starline seems to be the only game in town and they make 2 length cases 2.085 (the SAAMI spec) and 2.125 which I've seen articles that state that is the correct or at least original case length. Which do you guys have chamber wise?

What twist rate and what bullet weight(s) are you using?

Thanks.

I had JES rebore/rechamber a Rossi Rio Grande. I had him cut a .366" bore and a .376" groove so I could use .378" bullets and do it with a 1 in 18 twist. It has worked like a champ.

I bought a bunch of Winchester brass which is 2.085" in length and custom ordered a bullet mold of my design, a TLC380-250-RF which I use sized at .378". I worked the mold as a group buy so I designed the bullet at .380" but with my need to size at .378" in mind.

Hey Ohio3Wheels.
Ohio has proposed it's deer calibers to any straight wall cartridge min .357 to .500 max calibers.http://ohiodnr.gov/news/post/ohio-wildl ... -proposals
I think I read on here you already shoot 40- 90 or something like that.
Just an FYI

It would be great if they do that. My Sharps is a 40-65 WCF. Hopefully the 38-55 conversion will be done by then and there always the '92s in 357 and 45 Colt. I think I'm covered :D
