Levergun bug has bitten me. AR-15's seem dull now.

The problem with the bug is it's like the flu, you wake up and wonder how you managed to pick up a half dozen or more:

Insert in blank (Leverguns, 1911s, ARs, 'Battle Rifles', Revolvers, 9mms and other mouseguns, .22LRs, bolt actions, 12g shotguns... or whatever other variation you might find yourself running up on that you just have to pick up at the moment.)
ADD another blank and repeat insertion of next type as required.

I bought a Buffalo Bill commemorative (carbine) for my youngest son when he was about 3 or 4, he's 30 now. It had been used some, so no collector value. It was $125, just like the standard model 94 next to it on the rack.
He loves that rifle, and killed his first deer with it. A few years ago I found another used Buffalo Bill, this one was the 26" rifle version. I bought it, now we have kind of father and son rifles. I've never hunted with mine, usually use a handgun these days, but it's a good shooter.

Lever actions are plain fun to have and use. Something about being a part of the mechanical operation. Rifle and shooter need each other to be a viable unit.

I enjoy shooting my Canadian commemorative. Will hunt with it this season.
We had the Winchester and the Rossi/Puma (brass frame, octagon barrel) at the range couple weekends ago.
Both guns drew a lot of attention from the AR shooters, several of which had to handle the rifles and commented on the natural feel and simplicity . Like Missionary says, rifle and shooter become a unit.
