Henry/Winchester

Post by Strawdawg »

I have been thinking of adding another Rossi to my safe in .45lc. For some reason, my mind diverted to another path and I decided to pick up a Henry .22 mag and I asked my lgs to get me one. I went down this morning to pick it up and he was unboxing a Winchester 44-40 with a 24" octagonal brl. It was a thing of beauty in my eyes and I asked him to put it in layaway for me. It may be made by Miroku but it is smooth as glass and the wood was very nice. I need to sell some sheep/goats so I can go rescue it.

Here is a couple of pics of the Henry and the Winchester...neither one very good, but, it's what I have at the moment :)

Refusing to let me reply with the Henry picture but they all look alike anyway :)

If it had been a .45 or such, I might have been able to resist..but, I wanted an original caliber and it was just so beautiful laying there on the counter. I'm old and I figure I needed it....:)

I did...said it needed to be under 240 kb. the first one went with no problem so I am not sure why it has to be that small...I just cropped it...let's see

Looks like the crop did it

It must be old age, but, I have not seen too many lever actions that don't look good :D

I have a fondness for 22 mags. Thirty plus years ago I owned an Ithaca single shot lever gun in 22mag. Many a soy bean chopping groundhog lost his appetite do to that little rifle. It was my first lever gun. The day I walk into Walmart and see .22 mag shells on the shelf is the day I go to my LGS and order a Henry. I'm not holding my breath.

They are hard to find. I bought 400 from my lgs the other day. :)

One day I got an email from midway that they had some in stock. One minute after the postmark on the email, I had them in my cart and when I hit pay for them, they disappeared from the cart-all gone. One minute!
