Leverguns? Heck yes!!

Post by kydave »

Non-Rossi Leverguns? Yeah, I got some, but the M92 .44 mag is the new kid on the block and very possibly the best looking!

.308 Savage 99 - 24" barrel
.44 Rossi M92 - 20" barrel
.357 Marlin 1894 - 18" barrel
30-30 Winchester 1894 - 16" barrel

Other than the hammerless Savage, nary a safety in the bunch other than what's between your ears... ;)

Is that a slanted receiver mak90 you have there nice. I wish ammo was dirt cheap like it was 15 years ago 25 bucks for 1000 rounds of sapson7.62x39.

It is slanted, but I don't know enough about them to realize they aren't all that way. I got it new in 1997.

At the gunshow today:
7.62x39 by the 1000 round case:

$246 for Tul-A Berdan FMJ primed steel cased (Not certain about the projectile)

$400 for GECO - FMJ, brass cased, non-magnetic projectile, reloadable

Reloadable 7.62x39 BRASS was $110 per '1000' and the measure was shaken together, pressed down and running over!

When compared to other rifle calibers in cost for plinking fodder its still cheap. Just not as cheap as it used to be. I did a group buy on a skid of 7.62x39 years ago and that buy worked out to 12 dollars per case of 500 it was some off brand Russian steel cased. It was nice though. Only way ammo will get cheaper now is if you have a time machine lol.
