I've seen two of them along with a few in 30-03.
As I understood it a lot of the ones that were supposed to go to Russia never made it.

I've always wanted an Win 1895 chambered in 303 British. Not sure why, just wanted it. Maybe it is because it is something I will never have.

I have one in .30 Gov't.....(aka 30-40 Krag). It was built is 1897 and belonged to my Father. It was my very first deer rifle and I've carried it since I was old enough to shoulder it. I still take it to the woods on occasion. 8-)

I do believe an 1895 carbine in .30-40 Krag is what Teddy Roosevelt toted up San Juan Hill.

Alright - finally found this thread again!

I meant to add my 2 cents - but I got distracted, as usual, and came back but couldn't remember which section of the site this thread had been located.

Guess what - that search button actually works!!

So here's my lever action wish list, it's pretty short and that's just because I am trying to be realistic. I have a "just enough to get by" family budget, as both my wife and myself are public school teachers in elementary schools so we really live paycheck-to-paycheck.

1. Marlin 1893, Marlin 1936, Marlin 36 in nice shooting condition - .30-30
2. Marlin 336 in .30-30, from 1949 - 1970's (like to avoid anything newer than late 70's)
3. Mossberg 472 - .30-30
4. Savage 99 - .30-30, .300 Savage, .303 Savage, .308
5. Rossi 92 - another .38/.357, but stainless don't mind 16" or 20" round or octagonal barrel
6. Rossi Rio Grande - .30-30 - why? so I can have a constant Rossi project rifle, of course!

That's all for now, folks! Thanks for listening.
