Savage 99

Post by bmeagle »

Hi guys

There is a savage 99 in 303 savage going on auction here in South Africa.
From the serial number it was manufactured in either 1900 / 1901.
26" round barrel with a lyman tang peep sight.

The auction guys specialise in classic firearms, they claim it has a good bore with good overall condition.
I'm thinking this could make a nice collectable woods hunting rifle?

Greetings
It all depends on the final price when the gavel descends.
The Savage 99 is an excellent rifle to carry and plenty powerful in the 303 Savage to take care of matters with non-dangerous animals. That one already has my personal choice for a rear sight so it would be gaining altitude on my desirability chart.
