What I would find just as objectionable to the plastic is that the front sight doesn't appear to be in a dovetail, but an integral part of the (evidently)plastic barrel band. In almost ALL cases I end up not wanting the factory front sight and want to change them and there wouldn't be many options with this arrangement. I much prefer the barrel to be dovetailed directly or if not, has a mount screwed into the barrel with a dovetail on it. The plastic itself I am sure is strong enough to do its job, hold the sight on and the tube on the gun, but don't care for the idea on a rifle that is supposed to be modeled after guns of the 19th century to be sporting plastic parts.. :roll: .
