I'd like to know how it tests as I have the grandfather to that in the form of a "real" Rossi stainless M88.

$163 after mail in rebate

It's a .38 but $163 for a new gun is pretty cheap.

Thanks! That rebate covers several models to include the Ultra Lite ( 2-850021ULFS) that I was looking at on KyGunCo (Bud's is $226 with free shipping). The rebate is good no matter where you buy them and you can apply directly on TaurusUSA. Here are the models that the rebate covers:
  • 2-850021FS
  • 2-850021ULFS
  • 2-850029FS
  • 2-850029ULFS
  • 2-850021PFS
  • 2-850029PFS
I was interested in the Ultra Lite as it is 7 oz lighter than my Rossi 351.

I noticed that my Rossi R35102 has been "archived" (discontinued) on the RossiUSA website despite being in the 2017 catalog. The Rossi website seems to have been updated and I suspect we are going to see more trimming of models in 2018.

They're practically giving these away!

Why haven't I ordered mine yet, anyway?

Thanks for all the leads, guys. Appreciated!

I'm asking myself the same, and I have the Rossi 351!

These pistols are available on Davidson's Gallery of Guns, so I ran it for the local pickup. The best price, which includes all the fees and shipping for the 2-850021ULFS (Ultra Lite) was $211. After the rebate that is $171 out the door for a pistol with a $382 MSRP! Less than half!

The best price I can find on the Rossi 351 which has now been discontinued is $289 but it still needs shipping, and transfer fees added. Man, I just hate turning a back on my friend that I've carried so far...

I'd buy one BUT CA's silly posterior rules limit me to one new handgun acquisition per month.
This month I will probably attempt to pick up a Smith Shield since they are also running a rebate on them.
I've got a couple others I want to get my hands on although the price on them is NOT fun. I'm afraid I have my mother's taste when it comes to a fondness for fine items although she's never really been into firearms.

I'm just waiting for my end-of-the-month disease to be over, so I can buy this little Taurus from my local shop in Virginia. I wasn't sure if they'd be anywhere near these low online price points, however I am happy with their sale price of $225 and of course the $40 rebate.

Even though I could've saved a few more bucks through the online route - I was actually about to begin my order via Palmetto State Armory - I backpedaled on that. This store is just fun to visit, low-key, and a business I want to support and keep in my neighborhood.

Palmetto's going to get my money anyway, since they've been enticing me for some time with a variety of complete uppers (with BCG's) I would like to try out on my Anderson lower.

Next stop to shop? Holsters for the little guy! All I have is the 4" Security Six living in a Sourdough Pancake from Simply Rugged. Other holster is my cordura US Army holster went with my Taurus 92 originally, then a bunch of other semi-auto's. So I need to do some learning on what's out there for decent, leather concealable and non-CCW holsters again!

Take care all - and thanks again for the inspiration.
