Rossi 6-gun in 44.

Post by wallythacker »

After receiving my Rossi rifles and being thrilled with the quality now I'm really curious about a 6 shooter in 44.

I see a nice looking SS 357 with/6" bbl, but no mention of a 44.

The Rossi 44 hopefully

A) has a 6" barrel

B) is a true large frame with two solid, preferably 3, lockup points.

C) is in the $500 range.

I'd be incredibly thrilled if it had the strength of a Ruger super Blackhawk.

Any such beast?

Almost, or at least. Along the Gulf Coast, Academy stores offer a R44102. It is a conceal carry 5-shot 44 Mag with a 2 1/2" barrel. It is detailed elsewhere on this forum and is an awesome handgun!

A fellow on Gunbroker is selling these for $340. I have the Taurus version and which cost me $200 more than this for a stainless finish.

To stay with a Braztech offering, you would need to go with something like the Taurus 44, which is a 4" 6-shot 44 Mag. They are available in both blue and stainless.

We have silly ass laws regarding guns with barrels <4". Our government has decreed them PROHIBITEDand only those with magical powers can own such deadly weapons.

I have said magic power and it's still too much conjuring to get such a beast over here.

Now,that Taurus 44 looks mighty pretty to me....

Funny, I remember most of the Taurus and astra clones back in the day but Smiths and Rugers were fairly priced too so buying off brand was only for those really pinching pennies. Now, the Smith 629 starts at a $1k and goes up. Not exactly affordable anymore.

Hey. Not a problem.

I ended up getting a used Ruger Redhawk in .44. Very nice pistol.

I'm also keeping an eye out for a Super Redhawk. I missed one very fairly priced.

Cheers
