MGM Scope Mount

Picked this up in a trade, I believe it's made of steel. Would it be an upgrade over the traditional Weaver 92 Mount? Image

It looks flat like a Single Shot mount. The R92 mount has a tapered base.

Yea it might lose alot of sight adjustment without that tapered base.
