Crossing Fingers on 44 Mag Deal

Post by vvllbs »

Hoping to pick up a second single shot 44 mag this weekend. I'm an H&R guy but it's very seldom you find one with a skinny barrel and open sights. The Rossi are like the older H&R. I'm thinking this one is not a Wizard. I also picked up yet another 223 barrel Rossi that maybe shorter than the one I have now. Hoping to make a switch barrel outfit and part with my current 223.

Picked it up, really nice shape even compared to brand new Rossi I have looked at. I have a 45 LC in H&R and a brand new H&R in 357 and neither have open sights so I'm tickled to get one. Will swap the black stock off this with the wood on my 223 and go from there. It's longer than I would like but it was a good deal. I have noticed that the rear sight was not taken off as I have had to do with other Rossi I have had.

Is the 44 Mag a Rossi or H&R?

Okay, the 44 will take my 223 barrel but the extra 20 gauge barrels would require a different forend. I planned on using the open sights on the 223, but my cheek would be at the end of the buttstock not good at all. Image my R44

Here is a picture with the 223 barrelImage

With the rear sight so far back, it's gonna have to be scoped
