jammed open

Post by WI_Shooter »

Hey everyone.
So I was at the range today with my rio grande 30-30 and the lever jammed in the open position. I knew that this sort of thing has happened to other people so didn't get super frustrated. I got it working but it jammed a few more times. when i got home tried to get it to jam up so i could see what was actually causing this. well i got it and it looks like the loading spring is getting stuck on the carrier.
I was gonna run to the store to get a small file to take just a tad off the loading spring and carrier so they don't get hung up on each other but just wanted to make sure sounded like an ok idea or if there is a better way to do this.
thanks for the advise

G'day, has the little screw that holds the spring in place for the loading gate come undone, mine would slowly works its way loose, not to the point of jamming the lever as i regularly check all the screws.
Have you taken the gun apart to see where its hitting, could be something simple or not....
